Meijer is voluntarily recalling fresh hamburger and fresh ground beef that has been sold in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.

None of the ground beef has been linked to any illness, but Meijer ordered the recall as a precaution after it found out that the products were from a JBS Swift Beef Company plant that has been verified as a potential source of E. coli contamination.

Here's how to identify the recalled products:

FRESH HAMBURGER - UPC 20165500000 with "sell by" dates of April 26, 2009-June 19, 2009 and "freeze/use by" dates of April 27, 2009-June 20, 2009 (Michigan stores only)

FRESH GROUND BEEF - UPC 201668000 with "sell by" dates of April 26, 2009-June 19, 2009 and "freeze/use by" dates of April 27, 2009-June 20, 2009 (stores in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky)

If you have any of these products, Meijer says you should toss it out or return it for a full refund. If you have any questions, you can call the Meijer custom err contact center at 800-543-3704.
