Bomb Scare in Lansing

A mysterious glass bottle and two softball-sized packages wrapped in duct tape had Grand Rapids and Lansing bomb squad teams investigating the drive-through area near Frandor's Bank One.

Authorities found the packages around 10 a.m. Friday. They used robots to investigate the strange materials, and then they detonated the strange objects to avoid any danger.

Police say the materials looked similar to bottle bombs or MacGyver Bombs, which contain various chemicals that may explode over time. Authorities say they are testing the left over debris they found at the scene. There is no confirmation that the objects contained dangerous or hazardous materials.
