A single engine Cessna put out an emergency alert at 12:19 p.m. Sunday when it couldn't get its landing gear down.

The plane circled the Capital Region International Airport for about 45 minutes and finally landed at 1:06 p.m. on a secondary runway at the airport.

An airport spokesman tells News 10 three people were on board the plane, a pilot and two passengers, none of which were injured.

The plane was damaged and has been removed from the runway, the emergency landing did not interrupt any commercial air traffic.

It is unknown why the landing gear wasn't operating.
