MDOT Makes Gas Tax Blunder
Allegan County Owes Ottawa An MDOT accounting mistake leaves Allegan County on the hook for $287,00 to Ottawa County.

LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- A state auditor general says the Michigan Department of Transportation incorrectly distributed gas tax funds to 35 county road commissions in the past two budget years.
The Grand Rapids Press reports Ottawa County was the biggest loser among 19 underpaid counties. Neighboring Allegan County owes Ottawa $287,000.
