The U.S. Coast Guard says four fishermen whose boat had capsized in western Lake Erie have been found safe.
Petty Officer Brandon Blackwell says Monroe County marine deputies spotted the men about 5:45 p.m. Friday offshore from Middle Island, about 35 miles southeast of Detroit. Blackwell says they were holding on to their capsized 19-foot boat, which had left Sterling State Park in Monroe at 8 a.m. Thursday.
The men, who are between 52 and 76 years old, were receiving medical attention Friday evening.
The men had been expected back at the boat launch about 4 p.m. A family member notified the Coast Guard when the men hadn't returned by 10 p.m.
