The last contact Stanley Frank Patla had with any one who knew him was likely Monday, December 18.
Police found his 2005 Cadillac Deville abandoned at the Sargent Road exit, just off Interstate 94 with what 1st/Lt. Jim Shaw describes only as "evidence of foul play."
That car led investigators to Patla's residence where it was clear he'd not been home for some time. It also led them to three men--all convicts--who are all now lodged on parole violations in the Jackson County jail.
"We have no charages. We feel they may have knowledge on the subjects disappearance and our investigators are trying to sort that out," Shaw says.
Those men, Shaw says, are now also suspects in several robberies in Ann Arbor.
Meanwhile, police in Jackson need help piecing together Patla's routine. They're asking anyone who may have seen him since Monday to contact the state police post. They're working with the three men in jail, hopeful what information they have does not come too late.
