For the second year in a row there is a drought in Michigan, according to the Michigan Corn Growers Association.

Jody Pollok, executive director of the group said that there is a drought and she believes southern Michigan is hit the worst.

According to the Michigan Corn Growers Association, the state ranks 11th in national corn production and the crop is the third largest agricultural component in Michigan’s economy.

While the drought will affect corn growers, Pollok specifically said that consumers would not feel the pinch.

She sighted global production as a means to fill any state corn deficiency.
