Robert Higbie was my Dad, a retired trucker and was well known in Eaton Rapids for all the poetry he had written. He was commissioned by many to write poems about loved ones who had passed away and for anniversaries, etc. He was very active in WWII in the Naval Forces in Italy, Sicily, South Africa and France"s Normandy Invasion aboard the LST 308. He lost Mom after 62 yrs of marriage and had just remarried on Valentine"s Day of 2009. He was the best Dad anyone could ever have !

The person was Robert Higbie. He was my husband's 84 year old Grandfather. There was also a young boy who sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries. For anyone who knew Robert Higbie the services are being held at the Church of the Nazerene in Eaton Rapids. The visitation will be held Thursday June 25 from 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held on Friday June 26 at 1 p.m.

I am Bob Higbie's granddaughter and would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. He was a wonderful loving man and lived a long happy life. He always had something nice to say and appreciated every day he spent on this earth. He was truly a great man and will be missed all that knew him.
