UPDATE: Eaton Rapids Accident Proves Fatal
A traffic accident Tuesday afternoon claims one life in Eaton Rapids.

EATON RAPIDS - One person was killed in a traffic accident on Main Street in Eaton Rapids Tuesday afternoon. The accident happened shortly before 2 o'clock on Main Street near Marilin Avenue. The Eaton Rapids Police department has not released details on the circumstances of the accident, or whether any other people may have been injured.

Traffic had to be diverted from Eaton Rapids main thoroughfare for several hours, as accident reconstructionists did their work.
