We have learned that the Spartan football coaching search is nearing it's final stages. The committee has been completing it's final round of interviews over the past couple of days. The next Spartan coach very well maybe Cincinnati head coach Mark Dantonio. MSU officials are scheduled to meet Monday when they could confirm Dantonio's appointment. The 50-year old Dantonio interviewed for a second time this weekend. He went 7-and-5 in his 3rd season with the Bearcats and has become Michigan State's main target over the past 48 hours. He has very strong spartan ties. Spending 6 years in East Lansing as the secondary coach under Nick Saban and Bobby Williams from 1995 thru 2000. After leaving MSU Mark was the defensive coordinator at Ohio State for 3 seasons helping the Buckeyes win a national title thanks to one of the stingiest defensive units in the country.
