A mid-Michigan man is asking you to help save a life.
Mike Bragg, 22, is battling kidney disease. He's also African American. Nationwide, African American patients, like Bragg, make up close to 30% of the people waiting for organ donations.
However, less than 15% of donors are African American. Matches are best made by the same race because of blood and tissue similarities.
Bragg is holding a series of fundraisers to help raise awareness and money. Money raised will be used for his life saving surgery and to help others as well.
The first in a series of fundraisers is being held Friday, November 24th at the Cadillac Club in Lansing. The event begins at 9PM and runs until 2AM.
