$4,500 for a car that works well. If I was buying new car, I would go to the junk yard, buy a special and then sell it again.

Does the U.S. Congress really believe that a $4.5K incentive to buy a new vehicle will work when so many people are either without jobs, or worried about whether they will have a job next week? Maybe I am different than most people, I try not to take on long-term financial commitments without some reassurance that I will be able to pay off the commitment.
