It may be Thanksgiving, but one mid-Michigan mother is already thinking about Christmas. Her son, a Marine, was killed in Iraq last year. Now she's asking you to send Christmas cards to troops stationed there.
Diane Huhn of Portland is determined to make the holidays a little more merry for members with Lansing based Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines.
"I just know how important it was to my son and his unit being over there at the holidays," said Huhn.
Her son, Lance Corporal David Huhn, was killed last December in Iraq. He wasn't with the Lansing group, but members of that company helped her after his death.
You can send a Christmas card directly to the group. Please send it to the address listed below. It's a good idea to send cards by the end of the first week in December so the Marines receive them by Christmas, and for security reasons please don't address them to anyone specific.
