Local UAW and GM Strike Tentative Agreement

United Auto Workers Local 652, Lansing's largest UAW local, struck a tentative local agreement with General Motors.

Local 652 represents about 6,500 workers and negotiated local issues such as; safety, health and quality of life in auto plants like The Grand River Assembly Plant.

A GM spokesperson says the agreement was satisfactory and required months to reach an agreement.

A union official said over 300 issues were discussed in the agreement.

Three additional locals have yet to reach an agreement: local 602, local 1618 and local 1753.
