The week of the fourth of July boasts many celebrations, though air shows attract many around mid-Michigan.

In Battle Creek, the U.S. Air Force is hoping to attract many plane watchers with an interactive exhibit that is both eye catching and possibly personnel catching.

The U.S Air Force Experience is an interactive exhibit that features a flight simulator. It’s intended to drum up interest in the Air Force, though people visiting the simulator are passively helping in the recruiting process.

Upon visiting the simulator, people must register their names and address to receive an I.D. card. Air Force personnel claim they use the information to develop leads in recruiting.

While the organizers say that the simulator does not lead to direct enrollment it does increase interest in the Air Force.
