Michigan State Police are investigating the death of an inmate at the Jackson County Jail. It happened last Friday.
Jackson county sheriff's officials say 44-year-old Calvin Crawford was found in his cell by a jail staff deputy.
The deputy immediately performed first aid, and then Crawford was transported to Foote Hospital where he later died.
According to the sheriff's report, it's believed that Crawford's death may have been self-inflicted.
Crawford was in jail on multiple felony charges.
