Authorities say a man from the Spring Lake area is responsible for running an SUV off the road last May.
The accident was caught on tape by an Oakland County Sheriff Deputy's patrol car.
The suspect allegedly clipped an SUV causing it to rollover multiple times. The driver of the SUV was treated for minor injuries.
The suspect will not be named until he is in custody but deputies say he will be charged with two misdemeanors.
The first is failure to stop at the scene of a personal injury accident which carries a one year jail sentence. The second is reckless driving which could be punishable by 93 days in jail.
Detective Sergeant Matthew Flint says the public's help led to the warrant being issued.
"I'm sure the driver of the car is very grateful that people were there to stop and it's people like that who call us and help us to solve crimes," he said. "So if you see anything out of the ordinary don't be afraid to call us and we'll follow up on those leads."
Police hope to have the suspect in custody by the end of the week.
