It could have been a cat-astrosphe, but a cat stuck in a tree for four days is safe and sound.
A stray cat was chased up a tree on West Saginaw by a dog days ago. Carolann Buycks saw it all, tried coaxing the stray cat down and even tried calling for help.
The Lansing Fire Department tried to rescue the cat, but the layout was a logistical nightmare and nothing could be done. The Police Department didn't have the proper equipment; neither did the Ingham County Animal Control. But Fred Brown, owner of Nexus Tree Care & Pet Rescue, did.
Brown brought the cat to safety Halloween afternoon. He climbed the Maple Tree with mountain climbing gear and his assistant helping him man the ropes. It took less than one hour, it typically takes about three hours.
Buycks was near tears when Brown handed the cat over. She brought him to Waverly Animal Hospital where the cat is being treated for free. Buycks says she will keep the cat.
