Former President Gerald Ford has been hospitalized for the fourth time this year, this time for more tests.

His office says the 93-year-old Ford is doing well at California's Eisenhower Medical Center, near Palm Springs. His spokeswoman wouldn't disclose the nature of the tests.

Ford was hospitalized 12 days in January for pneumonia. In July, he had a brief hospital stay after becoming short of breath. Then, in August, he went to Minnesota's Mayo Clinic where he received a pacemaker and had stints put in two of his coronary arteries.

Five years ago, Ford had two small strokes.

Ford became the nation's oldest living former president after the death of Ronald Reagan in 2004.
