Lansing Mayor Tony Benavides won the mayoral election and the day after has him looking back at his campaign, while also looking towards the future.

It was a race that came down to the wire, with 258 votes separating Benavides from challenger Virg Bernero.

On the day after, Benavides met with his police and fire chiefs. One of the biggest concerns facing the city in the next few months will be how it deals with looming budget cuts.

State Senator Bernero says he hopes the two will put the past behind and be able to work together in order to move Lansing forward.
