Lansing Police say an 80-year-old woman was beaten and robbed Monday morning. And they say the suspect they're looking for is likely the same man who raped a 62-year-old woman a week ago.
Police say the man is approaching homes all over the Genessee neighborhood, knocking on the door, and asking if the resident needs any work done around the house. In at least two incidents, the man has forced his way inside and attacked a woman.
Police say the man may be targeting elderly women. They are recommending all residents in Lansing keep their doors locked, and be aware of strangers in the neighborhood. They also the man is approaching homes early in the day.
The elderly woman attacked Monday was taken to the hospital, but police say she will recover from injuries to her head and face.
Police sketch artists have drawn two pictures of the man. They are also looking for a black Astro minivan in connection with the crimes. They are asking anyone with information to call the LPD at 483-4600.
