21-year-old East Lansing Man Killed After SUV Plunges Into River
Car traveling on Cedar Street falls into the Red Cedar River, Lansing resident jumps in to save victims.

News Ten has learned new information about the SUV that plunged into the Red Cedar River Tuesday afternoon.
The driver died Tuesday night, police Identify him as Jeremy E. Watson, 21, of East Lansing. Police identify the passenger in the vehicle as Shawn A. Wiltfong, 20, of East Lansing.
The SUV was headed south bound on Cedar Street Tuesday, when it jumped a bridge guard rail, and plunged into the river.
Two people were inside.
Lansing resident Ryan Kowalk witnessed the accident, and jumped into the water to help rescue the passenger who was standing on the roof of the SUV.
Kowalk's wife was also on the scene, and immediately called 911.
Officers quickly arrived, and pulled out the driver who was trapped inside.
He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
Kowalk was also treated for injuries, and has since been released.
The accident remains under investigation, but police believe a flat tire could be to blame.
