A Holland, Mich.-area funeral director's involvement with the end of one life may have led to the saving of another.
Steve Langeland was driving back Tuesday from a burial in Ottawa County's Park Township when he saw that a vehicle had gone off the road and struck a mailbox.
He saw the driver slumped over the steering wheel, got out and saw that the driver wasn't breathing, so he administered CPR.
He tells The Holland Sentinel that he then flagged down an ambulance that happened by. Three deputies from the Ottawa County sheriff's office showed up a few moments later.
Sheriff's Lt. Steve Kempker says the 69-year-old driver, Paul Edelman of Holland, was at Holland Hospital on Wednesday but his condition isn't being released.
