An immigration sweep that spanned from mid-Michigan to west Michigan has resulted in the arrest of 55 illegal immigrants.
Federal Immigration Enforcement officials captured the illegal residents over a five day period.
They say the illegal immigrants come from 13 different countries, most of them in Latin America. Most have criminal backgrounds ranging from larceny to drug manufacturing.
Agents say it appears more work needs to be done, and they plan to conduct more sweeps.
