The endorsements continue to roll out in Lansing's mayoral race and the upcoming primary election.
This time it's Mayor Tony Benavides who receives an endorsement. He calls it critical for his campaign.
More than 20 ministers and pastors are coming together in support of Mayor Benavides. As a candidate who positions himself as the voice of the people, Benavides says who better to back him than those who know the people's concerns.
Ministers and pastors say Benavides is a candidate who prides himself in strengthening neighborhoods and the broader community of Lansing.
He says he believes the next two weeks could be the deciding factor in the upcoming primary election.
Benavides was endorsed last week by former Mayor David Hollister.
