Lansing Police are investigating a case of multiple stabbings that happened at about midnight Sunday on the 900 block of Holten.

Lt. Mike Yankowski says the suspect, a 20-year-old Hispanic Lansing resident, was kicked out of a Super Bowl party because he was unruly after drinking too much.

He returned to the house about 20 to 30 minutes later with some friends, and said he wanted to fight. A fight ensued with about 15 to 20 people in front of the house.

Three people were stabbed, all Lansing residents:
-a 40-year-old white male, who received multiple wounds.
-a 25-year-old Hispanic male, who also received multiple stab wounds.
-a 40-year old male, one wound in the abdomen.

The victims are all in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Three or 4 other people received injuries from the fight, but all refused treatment. A gun may have been present in the fight, but it doesn't sound like it was discharged.

Yankowski says the first two stabbings apparently were caused by the suspect, who used a pocket knife. The third man says he's not sure how he got stabbed or who did it.

The suspect was arrested on two counts of assault with intent to commit murder. He is in custody and his case should be reviewed by the prosecutor sometime Monday.

The case is still being investigated. Anyone who witnessed the fight should call Det. Sgt. Sue Bayliss, 483-4600.
