We need a 50mpg hybrid 4x drive for winters in the northern U.S. It doesn't have to be massive but it does need to travel through snow without contributing to CO2 in the atmosphere. What is wrong with American auto companies???? Why is the Ford Fusion the only hybrid vehicle built by Ford and why does it fall short of the Toyota Prius? There's just no excuse for this in this day and age where our ice caps are melting, desertification's increasing, disease outbreaks are on the rise, the list goes on - solely from anthropogenic output. Prices need to come down as well. It's a vicious circle: One needs a job to afford a car and one needs a car to go to work. So, make affordable vehicles and/or widen all roads to allow walkers and cyclists and/or make public transportation a priority.
