GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) -- Shoppers at Family Fare and D&W Fresh Markets grocery stores in the Grand Rapids and Holland areas who spend $100 are being offered the chance to buy gasoline for 99 cents a gallon.
The Grand Rapids Press reports the promotion Sunday through Tuesday is taking place at 30 supermarkets operated by Grand Rapids-based Spartan Stores Inc.
Shoppers will get a bar-coded receipt when they check out. The coupons must be redeemed by Thursday at one of 11 Quick Stop fuel centers. Stores not located near Quick Stop fuel centers are excluded from the program.
AAA Michigan says the average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gas is about $1.80 in the state.
