Construction on US-127 is halted this week to make way for the arrival of Michigan State students.
Orange barrels have been moved aside from Trowbridge road to Interstate 69.
The US-127 project is not expected to be completed until the end of September.
The break in road work should help ease up traffic for M.S.U. "Welcome Week."
But even with the construction hiatus on US-127, expect delays there and on Interstate 96 this week.
Some 15,000 M.S.U. students will be moving into residence halls Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
The Trowbridge exit on US-127 will be especially busy.
The major arteries around campus to avoid this week are Hagadorn Road, Harrison Road, Grand River Avenue and Michigan Avenue.
