Republican legislative leaders will meet tomorrow with Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm about the state budget.
State House Speaker Rick Johnson announced the meeting today on radio station WJR.
The announcement comes less than a week after he and Republican Senate Majority Leader Ken Sikkema walked out of a budget meeting with officials from the Granholm administration.
The two Republican legislative leaders were upset that the governor called their plans to spend new federal funding irresponsible.
Johnson said he and Sikkema hope to set final spending limits with the governor at tomorrow's meeting.
Lawmakers are trying to finish work on the budget for the fiscal year that begins Oct. 1.
They want to begin their summer recess after next week.
