Security will be stepped up inside the Ingham County courtroom after a prisoner attacked a court officer.
The new security measures will be announced as early as next week.
Investigators say Geoffrey Goodman attempted to strangle the officer while waiting for a court appearance. After the officer was overcome, Goodman ran out the courthouse's back door and jumped into a waiting car.
Officers later caught up with him in Holt.
They are trying to find a woman believed to have left the keys in the getaway car.
The officer who was attacked is okay.
