A republican in the GOP primary for the 93rd District House race says a bogus group calling itself the Gay and Lesbian Coalition is telling his supporters that it wants voters to support Paul Opsommer. The Mayor of DeWitt says it’s a political dirty trick since he has never solicited any such group's endorsement, but he has no idea who is behind the llth hour effort to influence the Tuesday primary vote.
Two other republicans in the race, Josh Nunez and Mike Trebesh, reportedly claim their backers got similar calls from bogus groups that they have had no contact with either.
Other candidates in the six way primary to replace outgoing Rep. Scott Hummel are: Tim Black, Gregory Carlson and Kevin Hayes.
