Some 3,000 children from nearby YMCA's, daycare programs and day camps packed into Oldsmobile Park Wednesday for the first Summer Fun Day of the season. It was 91 degrees for the first pitch.

The Lansing Lugnuts General Manager Jeff Calhoun says he and his staff called the groups Tuesday to see if they wanted to switch days and most decided to attend the game despite the dangerous heat.

As always, complimentary water was available at all concession stands. One adult did seek medical attention. It was not life threatening.
