Saturday's high reached up to 90 degrees, but with the heat index the temperature definitely felt a lot hotter. So many in Mid-Michigan took to pools and lakes in our area to cool off.
Down at the East Lansing Aquatic Center close to 400 people had shown up just one hour into its opening. And according to manager Josi Dunham, the center is expected to reach its capacity of 1,400 people or at least 1,000 people during the next few days.
"Especially since today it's supposed to be record highs. So people come in. Lots of families come in just to cool off."
The East Lansing Aquatic Center is open everyday of the week from 11am-7pm. It's located off of Abbott Road.
