Services will be expanded and enhanced thanks to General Motors' $3.5 million donation. GM officials presented the check Wednesday afternoon. The money is from the Memorial Day promotion in which $100 was donated for every sale of a new Pontiac, Buick and GMC vehicle.
The VFW National Home for Children's Executive Director says its veteran family program, military family program and off campus services will expand. It's unclear if any new homes will be built.
The board of trustees has the final say on how the money will be spent, they meet in October.
