Wednesday Ingham Regional Medical Center leaders stood outside and announced honors for their current cardiac program. Their award, the prestigious Premier Award for Quality for Acute Myocardial Infarction. This as just a few hundred feet away, crews worked to build a whole new cardiac center. It’s the Chi Heart and Surgery Center. Hospital leaders say it will help improve cardiac care even more.
The Premier Award is a national award given only to efficient and state of the art hospitals. Ingham Regional Medical Center is the only hospital in Michigan to receive the honor two years in a row.
Meanwhile doctors and hospital leaders are excited about the building of the new Chi Heart and Surgery Center. They say it will increase efficiency by putting top cardiac doctors and state of the art heart care technology all in the same wing. On top of that future patients can expect bigger, quieter, private rooms. It is scheduled to open late next spring.
