Another candidate throws his hat into the ring for the seat of Mayor of Lansing. This time it's state Senator Virg Bernero.
Outside his home in Lansing on Monday, Sen. Bernero officially announced he will run for the seat. He says Lansing needs bold and effective leadership.
His message begins and ends with neighborhoods, making them destination spots for young families. Another focus is the continuing development of downtown Lansing.
His announcement raises the total of mayoral candidates to four. Others include Melissa Sue Robinson, Leon Black, and interim Mayor Tony Benavides.
