Nearly 200-new jobs are coming to the Lansing area.
According to the Lansing State Journal, The Demmer Corporation is in need of more workers.
This comes after landing a subcontract to produce military armor for light duty military vehicles.
Once finalized, Demmer will create at least 180-new manufacturing jobs over the next couple of months.
A total of at least 300-new jobs could come out of this deal because the company plans to expand.
Production will be at the former motor wheel building on Larch Street.
Mayor Virg Bernero calls it the biggest job expansion of it's kind in the State so far this year.
Demmer officials need to get approval from Lansing's Brownfield Redevelopment Authority Board, City Council, and State Officials before the project gets the green light.
