A Kalamazoo County couple is fighting a local ordinance that prohibits people from keeping livestock as pets.
Salon owner Anna Tack and Pfizer worker Eddie Johnson say they'd sell their home before giving up Bacon. They were ticketed recently for keeping the potbellied pig as a pet.
The ordinance bans livestock such as pigs, hogs, goats, rabbits, and chickens in neighborhoods within Comstock Township.
Tack says Bacon is an indoor pig that knows to go to the door when she needs to use the bathroom.
But neighbors complained about Bacon, leading to a citation after failing to comply.
Tack and Johnson hope the court rules in their favor.
