Police in Meridian Twp. are investigating a train accident that happened early Thursday morning leaving one woman dead. .
Around 5 a.m., police responded to the railroad track just north of Haslett Rd.
Sources say the woman was hit by a Canadian National Illinois Central train. The train stopped to call the accident in.
Police aren't releasing her name at this time. The incident closed down part of Haslett Rd. between Shaw and Carlton roads.
