Medical officials say it's important for teachers to know how to treat students in case of emergency, but teachers all over mid-Michigan aren't just learning about asthma.

They may soon be asked to learn CPR in order to get their teaching certificate. That's according to a bill floating around in the Michigan legislature.

Some teachers say it's a good idea to learn how to treat health issues, but teaching is still their top priority.

World Asthma Day is May 6, and on Saturday, medical officials will discuss asthma at the Cristo Rey Community Center from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
