State republicans charge the governor with operating a secret political fund but Jennifer Granholm says she'll reveal the names if the GOP does the same with its secret fund.
State GOP party chair Betsy DeVos says the governor is soliciting political contributions from companies seeking contracts with the state and placing those dollars in a "new secret political fund."
Gov. Jennifer Granholm says the fund is patterned after a similar program created by former Gov. John Engler. That is confirmed by the GOP. Granholm tells News 10 she would support legislation to reveal the names if the republican agreed to do the same thing.
GOP spokesperson Greg McNeilly says his side would favor such a law but still criticizes the collecting of money from would be state contractors. Noting that it is not illegal it does have the appearance of being unethical.
