Lansing's Capitol City Airport announced a new carrier will join its fleet starting in July. Allegiant Airlines will be providing non-stop service from Lansing to Las Vegas. Flights are going for as low as $99 one-way.
Officials say they hope it will be a popular service and bring in new customers.
This is the third new airline to come to Capitol City since new executive director Robert Selig took over in November. It's part of an aggressive plan to grow business.
Flights will run once a day Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday. Allegiant Airlines says flights out of Lansing are being booked at record pace.
The airline received as much as $100,000 in incentives to fly out of Lansing. In return, the non-stop Vegas flights will be offered exclusively out of Lansing for at least a year.
