Howell High School graduate Jason Meyers is the first soldier from Livingston County killed in action since the Vietnam War.

Saturday, about 300 people gathered in Howell to pay tribute to remember and honor Meyers. He graduated from Howell High School in 1999.

Meyers was killed near Baghdad earlier this month. He was buried in Arlington National Cemetery last week.

During his memorial, Meyers' mother received an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in her son's memory.
