Teaching jobs are on the line in the Lansing School District.
In an effort to erase an 8-million dollar budget deficit 60 school teachers in the district could be laid off.
The district is in the red due to declining enrollment.
In addition to administrators and teachers, more than 100 employees could lose their jobs to privatization.
As for the teachers, district officials say the number laid off could actually be much lower, maybe around 20 to 25 instead of 60.
Officials say the final number will depend on fall enrollment numbers.
