After only two days of trial, a 24-year-old man faces life in prison for his connection with a Jackson murder.

On Tuesday, James Whetstone was acquitted on a first degree murder charge, but convicted on conspiracy to commit murder.

Two other people are also suspected in the crime.

The prosecuting attorney says the jury knew Whetstone had a part in Devin McCain's death, but they were not sure who pulled the trigger.

The prosecutor says during the trial, security was increased at the courthouse because a number of witnesses were threatened.

Demetreon Adams and Lasonya Dempsey are also accused of being involved in the 2005 killing, they will go on trial in July.
