Whitney Cerak is starting to understand how she was caught up in a tragic case of mistaken identity.
The Gaylord teen is recuperating at rehabilitation facility near Grand Rapids. She was among ten people from Indiana's Taylor University, who were riding in a school van that collided with a tractor-trailer in April.
The crash killed a university employee and four students, including one identified as Cerak. Her family says in a blog that Whitney is laughing, talking in complete sentences and greeting church staffers by name.
The Ceraks recently started the blog to provide updates on her condition. The Christian family often praises God and quotes Scripture in its entries.
