The boss at GM's Lansing Delta Township assembly plant just got a big promotion, but he doesn't have to leave town.
Plant manager Randy Thayer will soon lead the Lansing Grand River Plant, which makes Cadillacs, and Lansing Regional Stamping plant.
Thayer has been manager of Lansing Delta Township assembly plant since 2003. The plant builds GM's popular crossovers; the Buick Enclave, the GMC Acadia and Saturn's Outlook. He has spent his entire career with General Motors rising through the ranks after beginning as a college co-op student at Oldsmobile here in Lansing.
The increased responsibilities are effective November 1.
