Three days ago it was a 148 year old farmhouse.
Now, the dream of having a new home is getting closer to reality by the hour.
News 10 stopped by the Nickless house in Holt today to give you an update on the progress of the "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" project.
Today, the design team and volunteers worked on drywall, tile installation, electrical and plumbing.
The foundation, framing and putting up the roof was completed Monday before the heavy downpours moved in.
We spoke with another son of Tim Nickless, who died in January after contracting hepatitis-C while working as a nurse. Blake Engstrand tells us the support for this extreme project has been incredible. "I really wish my dad could've been here to see this with us," says Engstrand. "I guess all those years of him giving as a nurse, I guess this is a way of giving back and I really wish he was here to see this."
Mayberry Homes is still trying to collect enough money to pay off the underlying mortgage of the home. If you'd like to help out, click on the link below.
