Laura VanRyn's casket has been exhumed from a northern Michigan cemetery.

Crews in Gaylord removed her body from a grave where the parents of another young woman had buried her in a tragic case of mistaken identity.

The action comes nearly a week after it was discovered that Whitney Cerak survived the crash, not VanRyn.

Cerak and VanRyn have similar facial features, the same build and height. They were together the night some Taylor University students were traveling in a van that was smashed by a semi.

Cerak's family was told their daughter was among the five dead. VanRyn's parents thought their daughter was alive but in a coma.
